A mIRC Tutorial
Welcome to the mIRC Tutorial page, this page will explain in detail how to use mIRC. It is very simple to set-up mIRC if you follow the images in order.

mIRC Detailed Installation Instructions

First you need to download mIRC: Download mIRC 6.35 (1.65MB)
We'll go through the setup process with a bunch of images and short explanations.
Install mIRC anywhere you want to have it and start it up, you will be presented with the following screen:
Enter the details you require:
Full Name: Your name
Email Address: Your email
Nickname: Your nickname
Alternative: Your second nickname in case your primary nickname is in use

Click the option Servers at the top left
To get rid of the long list of useless servers like on the screenshot left click the delete button once and then continue to hold the enter key until the list is gone.
Click Add and enter the following informations:
Description: MP-Gaming Lineage II
IRC Server: irc.mp-gaming.com
Ports: 6667
Group: MP
Password: Leave blank
Click Add

Click on Options at the top left
Tick the Connect on startup box
Click Perform
Tick Enable perform on connect box
Click Add
Select MP
Click OK

Select MP from the dropdown box
Replace "MyNick" with your nickname. Replace "MyPassword" with the password you wish to use
Enter on an empty line: /join #mp-lineage2
Click OK

Click IRC at the left
Tick Whois on query box
Tick Keep channels open box

Click Messages at the left
Tick Timestamp events box and enter [dd-mm|HH:nn:ss]

Click Sounds
Untick Enable sounds

Now you can click the OK button to close the options dialog boxes.

Enter /server irc.mp-gaming.com and press Enter
================================================
Untick Pop up favorites on connect and press OK

Now we are going to register your nickname.
Type: /ns register fakepassword youremail and press enter
Replace fakepassword with the password you entered in the options earlier
Replace email with your email address

You may notice that some yellow and lightgreen text is hard to read with a white background so click the coloring-icon at the top of your screen.
Click inside the window and pick a color you wish to assign to the background, when somone gets kicked, normal messages etc.
Now you are all done, close mIRC and restart it.
It should automatically join the MP Gaming irc server, identify your nickname and join the #mp-linage2 channel.
